Meet Louis Bensard

Passionate about mathematics from a young age, I've spent the past decade applying machine learning and AI to real-world problems across industries. I currently serve as Co-founder & CTO at Sightline OS, a venture-backed supply chain management and planning software, where I own the full technical stack: From demand forecasting models built with PyTorch and statistical methods to the data infrastructure and product that turn them into decisions for enterprise customers.

Previously, I led Bayesian modeling and time series forecasting projects as Manager of Data Science at Ekimetrics, and built Stratos—a mobile app for general aviation pilots—from the ground up, applying ML to optimize airport maps, flight tracking, and pilot analytics. I've also worked on marketing optimization at Ipsos MMA and media portfolio modeling at Panasonic.

I hold a Master's in Statistics from California State University, Fullerton, and dual Bachelor's degrees in Math and Computer Science from Sorbonne Université, where I received multiple academic scholarships and honors.

I aim to make a meaningful societal impact through my passion in ML, math, and AI. Outside of work, I'm a licensed pilot, avid off-the-beaten path traveler and (unlicensed) french cook at home.
